Physicochemical properties
Physicochemical properties include (but not limited to) solubility of drug molecule,, how well the drug molecule can cross different biological membranes (e.g. get into cells), how the drug is metabolised (processed) and its stability in the body (e.g. how long it will stay in the body). These properties could be modified through a range of methods such as by altering its chemical structure or combining it with another molecule to change the solid form.
